| The chicken, because God made it first. |

| Ah yes: the age-old question which shall continue to be asked until the destruction of mankind. That or the destruction of a certain choice half of mankind. :D |
| egg bc ther had to be an egg to make a chicken so god put a eggfirt bc the chicken could come |
| If you look at it christianally(sp?), God created all creatures at once. Thus, Chicken>Egg.
Scientifically, it's debatable. If creatures evolved, then it depends on how the first chicken was born. Was it born or hatched? Don't know. Don't really care. Takes too much effort to answer. |

| But Katie, there had to be a chicken to make an egg. :O
Here's an idea: What if they both came at the same time? :O |
| DUH! The chicken! u guys should know this, im 10 and know this cuz i live on a farm!!! |
| The spirited chicken came first, since the combination of un-reletavely abnormal mutation switches builded the spirit E-code of the chicken, but an egg is merely an egg, so the physical form of a chicken was technically released first to avoid confusion. |
| But horseluver, you can just as easily say the egg came first, because where did those chickens come from? There's no solid evidence for chicken or egg, which is why the question is so popular: There's no definite answer. D: |
| what, do u think an animal is going to evolve into an egg? no! it's going to evolve into a more advanced animal, in this case the chicken. then, the chicken can create offspring. |
| The question says 'What came first? The chicken or the egg?' But it doesn't say if it was a CHICKEN egg or not, and I'm sure before the chicken we know today, there were many eggs that hatched, one type which evolved over time into the chicken we know and love today.
HA!!! |

| If a "Chic" mated with a "ken" then the female of the 2 would give birth to a Chicken egg. If your religious of course the chicken came first but you dont know about evolution so whatever. |
| egg you idiots
you eat eggs for breakfast, which is before dinner, when you eat chicken |
| The egg came first due to genetic mutation. When birds of different species and gender breeded many, many, MANY years back, they created the famous CHICKEN EGG. Therefore, the egg came first. A more suited question to this paradox would be: Which came first, the Common bird, of the common bird's egg? But this results in the same paradox scientists are faced with, on how the universe was created, whether god created it or it was just the big bang. To better understand this:
>Y cannot be made without X, yet X cannot be made without Y.<
In the chickens case, yes it can. |
